Description

Auditory Verbal UK (AVUK) provides auditory verbal therapy (AVT) for families of deaf babies and pre-school children from birth to five years of age. AVT is a research-based approach for developing spoken language in children with hearing loss.AVUK offers fortnightly appointments for deaf children and their parents to support their development of listening and spoken language.

All the therapy sessions are delivered by highly specialist auditory verbal therapists either face-to-face in-centre, via telepractice (video calls), or via a combination of the two. AVUK has been delivering family sessions and professional training via telepractice for a number of years and the team is highly experienced in delivering services in this way.AVUK has a bursary scheme to support eligible families to access their programme, and it runs regular free-of-charge Meet an AV Therapist webinars for families wanting to find out more about auditory verbal therapy and AVUK’s programme for families.
