Aqua Include
How to contact this service
Description
Aqua Include is an inclusive, passionate, and approachable swim school based at its own purpose-built facility. It aims to serve the broadest possible community without judgement. It teaches low-ratio classes, supporting children and adults with (and without) additional needs.
Aqua Include was formed in 2019 in response to the lack of provision for children who behaved in a way that mainstream swim schools couldn't (or wouldn't) cater for. Founders Charlotte and Sam decided to create their own swim school to teach these children the lifesaving skill of swimming.
Aqua Include currently works with children who have received a wide range of diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), down syndrome, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and sensory impairments. It also works with children who receive education in settings other than at school or that are on part-time timetables.
Visit the Aqua Include website to look at its provision and register your interest in its lessons. It currently takes bookings directly from parents but also receives referrals from local authorities, NHS trusts, and schools.
Please note: Aqua Include's facilities don't include a winch (yet). Children requiring nappies or those with incontinence issues must wear the 'double nappy' system involving a swim nappy and neoprene costume.
