Grow Wild Outreach CIC

Grow Wild offers practical outreach services for young people and adults with disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health needs. Their projects are based outdoors, and service-users are supported to engage in local environmental projects and outdoor activities. It could be seen as a more advanced version of ‘forest school,’ whereby adults with barriers can engage in activities that instigate personal and environmental development. Grow Wild participates in lake/river clearance, beachcombing, planting native plants and trees (to improve biodiversity), and contributing to the local community gardens/parks/commons. Activities will also include rambling, cycling, and other forms of exercise to boost cardiovascular and respiratory health and mental wellbeing. Activities are designed to be therapeutic, breaking down the negative impacts of isolation and helping to build confident individuals with improved mental health and a developed practical skill set. Clients can be picked up and dropped off by Grow Wild’s transport service, which is fully equipped with the PPE and tools needed for activities.
