National Association for Special Educational Needs (Nasen)
How to contact this service
Description
The National Association for Special Educational Needs (nasen) is a charitable membership organisation that exists to support and champion those working with, and for, children and young people with SEND and learning differences.
They do this by providing free resources and support for all members, leading targeted programmes and projects to deliver widespread improvements, offering a structured programme of professional development, accredited training and conferences as well as a package of SEND services throughout the UK and internationally.
Nasen also host Whole School SEND - a consortium of charities, schools, and organisations committed to helping children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) or learning differences reach their full potential.
Whole School SEND leads Universal SEND Services - an ambitious 3-year programme, funded by the Department for Education, to develop the education workforce so that more children and young people (CYP) have their needs identified and met effectively, resulting in successful learning in schools and further education (FE) settings, and leading to improved Preparation for Adulthood (PfA), including pathways to employment.
Much of Nasen's offer – which is delivered in strategic partnership with the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) and the Autism Education Trust (AET) along with key delivery partners in the education community – is is suitable for professionals both in schools and in FE. Nasen hope that people who use their services will start to think about how we can all work together for the benefit of our learners with SEND, from school to FE and beyond.
