Knowledge Change Action (KCA) - Five to Thrive
How to contact this service
Description
Five to Thrive is an attachment-based approach to support positive parenting. It aims to support parents in being able to 'tune in' to their children. It is useful for both parents and professionals.
The Five to Thrive approach has five "building blocks" that count equally towards parenting a healthy brain: Respond, Cuddle, Relax, Play, and Talk. These building blocks are drawn from research into the key attachment processes that forge bonds between young children and their carers. They are designed to support positive feedback processes and reinforce positive interactions between parents and their children.
Health visitors and early years providers in Northamptonshire have information about the Five to Thrive approach. Printed guides, posters, pop-up banners, and a range of age-specific supplements are available to support the implementation of Five to Thrive.
