toothPASTE is a free online programme that helps parents of young autistic children look after their teeth. It aims to lower tooth decay and reduce the need for dental surgery.
The programme was created after a study led by the University of Leeds. The study found that many autistic children have a hard time with brushing, eating, and going to the dentist. The team created toothPASTE alongside autistic children, their families, and early‑years staff. Parents asked for clear, simple advice that fits the needs of autistic children.
