Inclusion Funding (Schools) - WNC

Inclusion Funding helps local mainstream schools give early, targeted support to children and young people with emerging SEND needs.

This non‑statutory funding comes from West Northamptonshire Council's High Needs Block / HNB (link). The HNB is a portion of the Dedicated Schools Grant / DSG (link), which the UK government gives to all local authorities. 

The money is designed to:

• support inclusive practice
• improve outcomes
• help prevent the need for more intensive support later

Inclusion Funding should:

• Promote meaningful progress and positive outcomes
• Strengthen the child’s sense of place
• Enable access to tailored support and new approaches
• Create a wider impact across the setting
• Close the attainment gap

Inclusion Funding supports early intervention, inclusive practice, and measurable progress for learners with SEND.

 Mainstream primary or secondary settings in West Northamptonshire can apply for it at an individual level, a setting level, or a community level.
