Description

Daventry Social Club is for people aged 18-29 years. It aims to reduce isolation in the neurodiverse community. The goal is to to create a safe social space for young people to meet new people. The club is particularly accessible for individuals who have difficulties socialising and anxiety around social situations.

The group meets at the New Street Centre every Friday. During the sessions, members can choose to play a range of board games (such as Cluedo or funny card games) or engage in arts and craft activities (such as crystal art, colouring, or painting). The sessions provide structured activities that make socialising easier. The members choose a community trip to plan each month which have included visiting a retro arcade, bowling, board game cafes, Christmas markets, and escape rooms.

Daventry Social Club has a maximum capacity of 20 members, so the sessions aren't too busy or overwhelming. People who would like to join need to complete a registration form, and memberships last three months. If the group reaches capacity, there is a waiting list. Membership re-opens every three months on a first-come-first-served basis. Please email [email protected] for the registration form.

New members can bring a family member or friend to the first session to help them settle in. They can also visit before the session to have a look around.

There is no joining fee, so there is no commitment. Many members find social situations difficult, so everyone is very friendly and understanding if you do too.

Daventry Social Club do their best to accommodate everyone. Email them if you (or someone you know) might be interested.
