Northamptonshire People First

Northamptonshire People First are a self-advocacy group run for (and by) people with learning disabilities. Their activities include:

• Running and controlling their organisation
• Holding committee meetings to make decisions
• Attending conferences
• Conducting learning disability research
• Advocacy
• Holding social nights

Northamptonshire People First can help people:

• Develop their office, computer, and telephone skills
• Attend meetings (to share their ideas)
• Work within a charity (over which they have control)
• Sit on the charity's Management Committee
• Learn to be an advocate
• Look for a job
• Be a part of a team
• Gain confidence
• Be a part of their community
• Fundraise
