Funding and allocations
UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF)
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
The fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, as well as people and skills.
We in West Northamptonshire have been allocated a total of £5.4m through the UKSPF. This is divided across numerous interventions based on local consultation and data analysis to have the greatest level of benefit for our community.
Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF)
The Rural England Prosperity Fund supports the aims of the government’s Levelling Up White Paper and Future Farming Programme. It funds capital projects for small businesses and community infrastructure specifically those from rural areas, and funding is divided between two priority areas.
West Northamptonshire Rural Business Grant – This programme is to support businesses in the most rural parts of West Northants to diversify and grow. We have allocated over £820,000 from our Rural England Prosperity Fund allocation for capital grants to support businesses located in Defra’s designated rural areas within West Northamptonshire.
Businesses will be required to provide up to 50% of equal match-funding to access grants between £2,500 and £100,000. We have appointed Ngage Solutions Ltd to manage the Rural Business Grants programme.
Rural Transport Scheme - Combining REPF and WNC funding, a new £950k grants scheme to create new and support existing community transport initiatives in West Northants, as well as support the expansion of current grant funded transport projects and services.
Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Organisations operating within the geographical area of West Northamptonshire and the Town and Parish Councils areas are invited to submit an expression of interest form for this Community Grant Fund. This grant programme is now closed and projects who qualify for the grant will be notified early March 2024.
