Internet services migration

We will be migrating our internet services to a new provider, Virgin Media O2, on Saturday 9 August. This will take place from 6pm to 10pm.

During this time, internet connectivity will be disrupted, affecting both inbound and outbound access across our sites. 

Please see below for details of the impacted services:

Internal Access to External Services

Access from our network to the following will be unavailable:

• all external websites and services
• Aquila Heywood
• Axiell
• Capita / MRI
• ERP Gold
• OLM

Remote Access

The following remote access services will be affected:

• Citrix (NCC / SNC / DDC)
• GlobalProtect VPNs
• VMware Horizon (NBC)

External Access to WNC Services

External users will not be able to access:

• ANPR Smart Web Pay
• Firmstep
• GoAnywhere – mft.northampton.gov.uk
• Lalpac – licensing.northampton.gov.uk
• billsandbenefits.westnorthants.gov.uk
• homechoice.northampton.gov.uk / homechoice.westnorthants.gov.uk
• planning.northampton.gov.uk
• regulatoryservices.southnorthants.gov.uk
• selfserve.northampton.gov.uk
• totalmobile.northampton.gov.uk

Services not affected

Public Wi-Fi services will remain available during the migration:

• WNC Public Wi-Fi will be unaffected at all locations
• GovWifi will be unavailable at The Guildhall and Central Museum, but will remain available elsewhere
