Parents and carers who home school children are invited to join virtual sessions aimed at helping young people to stay safe online.

Our School Attendance Support Service is offering the parent and carer sessions on Safeguarding Children and Young People Online.

The sessions are aimed at parents and carers who electively home educate their children and want to know more about how to support them to be online in a safe and responsible way.

Each one-hour interactive session is run by our online safety and wellbeing officer Simon Aston and will explore where children and young people are going online, from gaming to social media.

It will delve into mental health, resilience, how children can be supported during the move from primary to secondary education and forming healthy relationships, both online and offline.

The session is built around helping children manage online risk, not blocking or taking devices off children and young people.
