Remembrance events to take place across West Northants

Communities across West Northamptonshire will come together in Remembrance this month, to honour those who served and remember their sacrifice.

There are a number of events taking place across West Northants, including:

Daventry

On Friday 11 November at 11am, a short service will take place to mark Armistice Day at the brick gazebo at the top of Sheaf Street, outside the Post Office.

Then, at 10:30am on Sunday 13 November, The Royal British Legion Remembrance Day Parade will start at outside the Argos store on Daventry High Street and proceed along the High Street to Abbey Street before finishing at the War Memorial, where a short service will be held to include the calling of the Roll of Honour and laying of wreaths.

Traditionally, crowds gather around the War Memorial for the short service and take part in a two-minute silence at 11am.

Northampton

Northampton Town Council will be leading this year's Remembrance Day Commemorations in the town centre on Sunday 13 November.

The day's event starts with a Parade and Civic Procession from the Market Square at 9:30am, followed by a Divine Service at All Saints Church at 10am, and a service in the Memorial Garden at 10:45am

Towcester

The Remembrance Sunday service at St Lawrence Church in association with the Royal British Legion starts at 10:50am on Sunday 13 November.

The Tove Benefice looks forward to welcoming Royal British Legion veterans, uniformed groups, and the wider community to its Service of Remembrance.

Brackley

From 10:50am on Friday 11 November, Brackley Town Council invites the local community to join them at the Brackley War Memorial for a two-minute silence at 11am to remember those who lost their lives in conflict.

The Town Council also works with the Royal British Legion to organise the Remembrance Parade and Service in town. The parade starts at 2:30pm on Sunday 13 November from Winchester House School, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 3pm at Brackley War Memorial.

Brixworth

Meet at the Library and Community Centre at 10am on Sunday 13 November for a walk to All Saints Church and an outdoor family service from 10:30am. There will be laying of wreaths and a two-minute silence at the Memorial at 11am.
