Waste and recycling collection delays

Bins, recycling and street cleaning

19 July 2021

Due to a temporary reduction in staff caused by Covid isolation requirements and sickness, food and garden waste may not be collected from homes in the Long Bucky area today (Wednesday, 21 July).

If you live in this area and do not receive these collections today, please leave your bin and caddy out for collection tomorrow.

We are working in partnership with our recycling and waste contractors and teams across the area  to ensure that our collection services are carried out to the highest possible standards. Due to the increased levels of COVID-19 transmission, our Daventry contactors have experienced increased staff sickness levels and, in some cases, a requirement to self-isolate which may lead to some service disruptions.

“We will ensure regular updates on affected services  are posted on our website and social media channels and would advise that residents in the affected areas take the relevant bins back in and present them for the next scheduled collection day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your understanding.
Cllr Phil Larratt, West Northamptonshire Council Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport, Highways and Waste
