Roadworks

Current works

We must ask that vehicles are not parked on the road within the works area during the road closure periods. We also recommend you plan extra time for your journeys.

We hope this information is helpful and we apologise for any inconvenience these essential works may cause. We will make every effort to minimise any unnecessary disruption.

Our team on site will be ready to assist you with any issues you may have during the work and we hope you will find our employees courteous and helpful.

The Chiltern Avenue Traffic signal upgrade scheme was due to commence on Monday 6th of November for a period of 4 weeks. Due to the Sandy Lane Road Closure, we have carried out an assessment on potential congestion in the local area and decided to defer the scheme to the spring of 2024. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Where: Junction of Bants Lane and Chiltern Avenue, Duston.

When: Deferred to spring 2024.

Road Closure from Eastern Avenue North to Holdenby Road between 9am to 3pm (road will be accessible as normal outside of these hours)

Emergency vehicles

We will maintain access for emergency vehicles.

Pedestrians and cyclists

During the works, footways will not be closed, and pedestrian access will not be affected. Cyclists will be asked to dismount and walk through the site on the existing footway. Pedestrian barriers will be installed to segregate pedestrians from the works.

Residents/Businesses

Please be assured that we aim to maintain access for residents/businesses. There may be short periods where vehicles will be prohibited due to the repair process and during these times vehicles access will be restricted. Please allow extra time for your journeys and consult with the Traffic Management on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed in the area prior to the works starting. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and co-operation.

Public transport

No public transport will be available through the road closure.

A road closure will be in place on Barley Hill, Culworth between Banbury Road and Banbury Lane with an approved diversion route

Traffic management

Working hours 9:00am to 3pm. Please do not park on the carriageway during these works. We reserve the right to tow away any vehicles restricting the works. Please see below the road closure highlighted in red, and approved diversion highlighted in blue.

Vehicle access will be limited for residents. Residents with properties within the road closure will be escorted through by our traffic management contractors.
