Description
The Silent Disco Project CIC runs inclusive silent discos across Northamptonshire. The sessions are for children, young people and adults with SEND.
The organisation runs SEND sessions in schools and specialist settings. It also runs Glow Social events. These are public silent discos for adults aged 18 and over who have disabilities, SEND or other needs.
Each person receives wireless headphones. They can set their own volume and choose from three music channels. People can join in by dancing, listening, sitting or watching.
For school and setting bookings, staff at the setting are responsible for supervision and safeguarding. They must also meet each person’s support needs.
The Silent Disco Project CIC provides the headphones, music and other equipment. Its team sets up the equipment, runs the session and packs everything away.
All team members who run sessions have an Enhanced DBS check. The organisation also has £10 million of public liability insurance.
Sessions can be booked as a one-off event or on a regular basis. The organisation also runs its own public events.
