Board Governance

  • Recommendation for an independent chair made.
  • Stuart Lackenby (Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director of People Services from West Northants Council) to serve as interim Chair.
  • Exploration of suitable candidates for nomination ongoing.

WNVP Update

  • Positive engagement in Parent Forum activities.
  • Forest School session was in success with high demand.
  • Collaboration with local School for possible future sessions.
  • Discussion on advertising of events through the Local Offer social media.

SEND Data Dashboard

  • Updates given new additional data included in the dashboard.
  • Presentation of Attainment Summary and local trends. 
  • Analysis of EHC and SEND support cohort attainment data will be considered in detail at a future board meeting. 
  • Discussion on interpreting data as a board and implications for ensuring the data is used to develop effective improvement strategies that are quantifiable. 

SEND Improvement Board Annual Reflection

  • Feedback via anonymous survey was completed by members of the board to consider effectiveness, accountability, diversity and appropriate representation of all stakeholders in the SEND partnership.
  • Proposal to consider name change for the Board to include Alternative Provision (AP).
  • Reflection on board representation, diversity, and accountability resulted in an agreement to update membership, expectations and Terms of Reference. 
  • Discussion on engaging youth voices and improving their representation at strategic level.
  • Decision to conduct an annual review of effectiveness, TOR, and membership.
