New charities selected to benefit from West Northants clothing collections
02 April 2026

Residents of West Northamptonshire have chosen five new local charities to receive funding from the Council’s clothing collection service during the next year.
A total of 2,883 residents took part in the public vote. The new local charities that will now receive a share of the funds generated from collections are:
- Baby Basics Northampton
- Northampton Hope Centre
- RSPCA Northamptonshire Branch
- SAF Cat Rescue
- South Northants Community Responders
All clothing and textile collection bookings throughout the 2026/7 financial year will go towards supporting these organisations.
This is the second year that the council has partnered with Anglo Recycling to deliver the service, which sees unwanted quality clothing and textiles, books, CDs, bric-a-brac and more, get reused creating funds for good causes.
The partnership has already raised around £600 for each of last year’s five selected charities, with more income expected for goods donated during February and March.
Cllr Stansfield, Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport, Highways and Waste, said: “Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote.
“It is fantastic to see so many residents getting involved and helping us support local charities through a service that also reduces waste.
“Last year’s charities have benefited greatly and I am very pleased that we can now continue this support for another group of organisations that do such valuable work in our communities.”
Last year’s charities were St John Ambulance, Animals in Need Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service, Northamptonshire Search and Rescue, and Cynthia Spencer Hospice,
