Five fantastically festive shopfronts in the West Northamptonshire area have been recognised for the quality of their Christmas displays.

Independent retailers across West Northamptonshire were encouraged to create a Christmas themed window-display as part of West Northamptonshire Council’s campaign to celebrate Small Business Saturday on 4 December, which encourages people to shop local and support small businesses in their communities.

Cutting Edge Barbers at 16 High Street in Brackley, Orange Blossom Floristry at 52 High Street in Daventry, Bags with Class at the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village in Weedon, J & A Jewellery and Accessories in Towcester and the Framing Centre at 182 Wellingborough Road, Northampton have each won a box of chocolates for their displays, free publicity and the right to say ‘best window displays in West Northants’.

Cllr Lizzy Bowen, Cabinet member for economic development, town centre regeneration and growth, said: “We’d like to thank all the businesses that took part in our shop front competition, as they’ve all helped to give the high street a little extra festive cheer this year.

“We are so lucky to have such a wide variety of small businesses in the West Northamptonshire area, and I would encourage everyone to shop local where they can this Christmas and all year round to support the local economy.”

West Northamptonshire Council supports businesses through a range of business support throughout the year, including help to start a new business, employment, skills and recruitment advice, tips on accessing funding and a business toolbox of useful documents.
