Coroner's inquests
A Coroner’s inquest is a formal judicial inquiry, held to determine the circumstances surrounding certain deaths. The process intends to help answer questions about who, when, where, and how the person passed away.
During the inquest the coroner will confirm information needed to register the death and record a conclusion based on evidence shared.
Inquests do not deal with the apportion blame or criminal liability as these are addressed in other courts if required.
