Glimmers Support CIC

How to contact this service
Description
Glimmers Support CIC is a community organisation that works with deaf children and young people of all ages, as well as their families. The service runs a deaf‑friendly youth club where children and young people can meet others, take part in activities, and enjoy time together in a space where their needs are understood. The focus is on building confidence and friendships.
Glimmers Support CIC offers advice and practical support to families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This includes help with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans, such as explaining how the process works, offering guidance before and during meetings, and supporting families to understand their options. It can also offer support around issues such as school attendance, including Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).
The team understands that families can go through particularly tough periods. To help during these times, Glimmers Support CIC offers Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills training for families. These sessions focus on practical tools for managing emotions, handling stress, and improving communication, helping families feel more supported and less alone.
Through a caring and down‑to‑earth approach, Glimmers Support CIC aims to make a real difference to the wellbeing of local children, young people, and their families.
