Description
Pathway to Jannah is a grassroots community group in Northampton. It supports families who have children with autism and other special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). It mainly supports families from African and Asian communities. It offers culturally sensitive peer support, learning, and advocacy.
Eligibility:
- Families living in or near Northampton.
- Families from African and Asian backgrounds who have a child with SEND.
- Parents/carers who want support to understand SEND, reduce isolation, and access services. This includes support where language or cultural barriers might make things harder.
Services:
Families can expect a welcoming, culturally sensitive community that offers:
- Peer support groups
- Education and training
- Help connecting to services
- Community advocacy
- Support for caregiver wellbeing
- Language support (including, but not limited to Somali, Swahili, Arabic, Hindi, and Urdu)
- One-to-one support
How to Access:
The group meets every Thursday/Friday in Northampton.
Families can use the “Send Us a Message” contact option (link) on the website. They can also join the WhatsApp community group (link) to connect with other parents, receive updates, and access the support network.
