Northamptonshire Sport - Inclusive PE and School Sport Programme

Northamptonshire Sport launched the Inclusive PE and School Sport Network (IPESSN) in 2014. It was founded in response to special schools seeking competitive and festival-based opportunities that were appropriate for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilites (SEND). The IPESSN is a collaboration of primary and secondary special schools, and mainstream schools across the county.

Since its inception, the IPESSN has arranged competitions, festivals, ‘come and try’ activities, high-quality leadership training, and deployment opportunities.

The IPESSN's programme is offered as part of Northamptonshire School Games programme. The network encourages schools to access opportunities from both programmes to suit the needs and abilities of their pupils. 

Inclusive PE and School Sport Network Meetings

The IPESSN hold regular meetings to discuss inclusive training and CPD opportunities, share news from governing bodies, celebrate good practice, promote resources, and share details of upcoming inclusive sports festivals and competitions. Please email [email protected] if you'd like to attend.
