Hope For Families

Hope for Families is a Christian charity that helps families in Northamptonshire and nearby areas. It welcomes families from all faiths and none.

Parenting Courses and Support Groups:

The charity runs parenting courses and support groups (link). These help parents and carers build strong family relationships. They also help people feel less alone and more confident in supporting their children.

Hope for Families believes that every parent has strengths. The charity helps parents build on these strengths and make positive changes at home.

Trained staff lead a range of Time Out for Parents courses. These courses were created by the national charity Care for the Family (link). Topics include family relationships, the teenage years, and support for dads.

Parents and carers can learn new skills, share ideas, and talk to others about their experiences. This helps them support each other and build new friendships.

Many people who attend the courses have children with additional needs or disabilities. In 2024-25, 77% of people on Hope for Families courses said their child had an additional need.

Hope for Families also runs a course called Time Out for Parents – Children with Additional Needs. This six-week course is for parents and carers of children aged 3 to 11 with a disability or additional need. Children do not need a diagnosis for parents to join. The course helps families understand their child's needs and learn ways to support them.

Before the course starts, parents receive a course pack in the post. This includes a parent handbook and other helpful resources.

The charity offers funded places so that money is not a barrier to getting support.
