Green Acres Farm Rural Enterprises is an alternative provision that offers informal education opportunities to young people and their families. Some students need a structured and highly-individualised setting in order to make academic and personal progress. Green Acres offers a range of practical activities designed to boost low self-esteem and develop the interpersonal skills required for success in the workplace.

The provision is based on the theme of producing, cooking, and marketing food. They also do a lot of varied craft skills and carpentry. It aims to support the development of practical skills that will be useful in daily life. Teaching takes place in a safe, welcoming, and positive environment. Their horticultural and cooking activities are tailored to the individual needs of young people and also meet the requirements of the national curriculum.
