Description
The Seeds of Change is an alternative provision that uses horses to deliver therapeutic and academic courses in outdoor environments. They work with children, young people, and adults (aged 5+) who want to achieve their potential and improve their life chances in school or the workplace.
The Seeds of Change is for:
- Young people who are disengaged from mainstream education and require an intervention that supports them to overcome barriers to their learning.
- Anyone with low aspirations or low self-esteem.
- Anyone who has encountered serious emotional or physical trauma, social deprivation, bereavement, or domestic violence.
- Young people with conditions such as selective mutism, self-harm, eating disorders, drug or alcohol abuse, addictions, offending behaviour, mental health problems, anxiety disorders, and autism / ASD.
The Seeds of Change offer structured sessions that are learner-led and focus on specific pre-agreed outcomes. They provide one-to-one interventions, and City & Guilds qualifications in Land Based Services, Employability Skills, Functional Skills in English, and Functional Skills in Maths.
