Description
Action for Neurodiversity (AfN) provides counselling and emotional support for people with autism and those who support them.
Services Offered:
- Confidential counselling sessions, short or long term, based on individual needs.
- Advocacy and advice on autism and Asperger’s (for clients only).
- One-time emotional support for urgent situations.
- Private messaging through the Facebook page.
- Brief, free email support in some cases.
Appointments:
No GP referral or formal diagnosis is required.
Initial inquiries are best made by email at [email protected]. If email is not possible, call 01536 266681 and leave a message.
To match clients with the right counsellor, AfN asks for a short explanation of why counselling is needed.
Location:
Most sessions are held online through video platforms. Clients can choose their preferred platform, or the counsellor may suggest one.
Face-to-face appointments are available at AfN’s main office in Corby, Northamptonshire.
Children aged 15 and under are seen in person only within Northamptonshire.
Waiting Times:
AfN aims to schedule sessions within 1–2 weeks after confirmation.
