Description

The National Award in SEN Co-ordination is a mandatory course if you are the designated SENCo for your school or setting. It must be completed within three years of taking up a post and is also relevant to those aspiring to the role of SENCo as part of their career development. This remains mandatory for the 2023/24 academic year whilst the Department for Education consider proposals to replace the NA SENCo with a National Professional Qualification (NPQ).

Completing this course gives 60 credits at Postgraduate level and can be used towards an MA in SEN and Inclusion at the University of Northampton (UoN). This course is taught by experienced senior lecturers from UoN alongside Local Authority and Teaching School partners with expertise in SEND. The University of Northampton is on the Register of Quality Providers and is part of the NASENCo Provider Partnership.
