Animals in Mind
Animals in Mind provides an alternative education provision that offers Animal Assisted Intervention). They work with children (aged 5+), young people, and adults who want to achieve their potential and improve their life chances in school or the workplace.
Animal Assisted Interventions (Play Therapy and Animal Assisted Education) are suitable for young people with learning difficulties or social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Animals in Mind provide 1:1 or small group sessions as an outreach service to schools, clients, care settings, in the client's home, or on-site in Scaldwell (just outside Northampton).
Animal Assisted Intervention is a new field of development for supporting a person through difficult times to aid personal growth. The interactions with animals are enjoyable and relaxing. They enhance both learning and therapy outcomes.
Educational and therapeutic goals can be achieved through individualised person-centred activities or the achievement of land-based qualifications.
Children and adults with special educational needs benefit from sensory interaction, personal growth, and learning. Engaging with well-trained animals builds their confidence.
Therapy and training progress at the individual’s own pace. Services are person-centred and non-directive (where appropriate).
