Description

MA Equestrian Riding School & Alternative Provision is an inclusive equestrian-based alternative education provider based in Chapel Brampton.

It delivers structured alternative provision of 2–15 hours per week. Sessions are tailored to individual need and EHCP outcomes. Provision is delivered on a 1:1 or small group basis.

Programmes are delivered through the British Horse Society (BHS) Changing Lives Through Horses (CLtH) programme. This is a nationally recognised equine-assisted framework designed to re-engage young people in education and develop transferable life skills.

Sessions combine horse care, stable management, groundwork and ridden activities (where appropriate) with structured personal development. Participants can work towards qualifications in:

  • Introduction to Horse Care
  • Introduction to Riding
  • BHS Achievers and Horse Explorer Awards
  • Personal Development

Certificates are awarded to formally recognise achievement and progression.

MA Equestrian focuses on measurable outcomes including:

  • improved attendance and engagement
  • increased confidence and self-esteem
  • stronger communication and teamwork skills
  • greater independence
  • improved emotional regulation
  • preparation for reintegration into education
  • progression into training or employment

It supports young people with SEND and SEMH needs, those at risk of exclusion, and learners who struggle in traditional classroom environments. The structured routine, outdoor setting, and calming influence of animals support engagement and regulation.

All staff hold Enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding training. Molly-Ann Osborne is the Lead Coach, CLtH delivery lead, and Level 3 Safeguarding Lead.
