Performing Room

Performing Room is a Northampton-based charity. It has around 20 years' experience running music projects in the county. 

Who They Support

Performing Room works with around 300 participants each week. These include people with learning disabilities or mental health conditions. It provides a safe, creative space for people facing social or personal barriers.

What They Do

The charity offers music workshops and events for children, young people, and adults. Activities include singing, songwriting, music technology, DJing, radio broadcasting, and more. These projects help people build confidence, learn new skills, and make friends.

Their projects improve wellbeing, teamwork, and communication. Participants report feeling less isolated and more connected to their community. Outcomes are measured through surveys, attendance, testimonies, and video diaries.

Performing Room offers rooms for hire, including:

• a Live Recording Room
• a Writing Room
• a Music Therapy Room
• an IT/Media Hub

The charity partners with care agencies, hospitals, schools, and other local organisations. It is managed by an experienced team and supported by volunteers.
