Northamptonshire Association for the Blind (NAB) logo

Description

As Northamptonshire's local sight loss charity, the Northamptonshire Association for the Blind (NAB) provides advice, support, and products to help visually impaired people live life to the full. They are the only local sight support charity that will visit people in the comfort of their own homes, providing emotional and practical support, helping people adjust to living with sight loss.

They can offer immediate and ongoing specialist advice and information over the telephone or in the comfort of your own home by our Youth and Activities Support Worker.

They can offer practical advice and guidance about the availability of leisure services and activities in the county.

They can offer taster days with local sports/recreational clubs for specific, visually impaired sessions (that can then be held and run on a regular basis by those clubs).

They offer excursions and social events for younger visually impaired service users and their families to come together and share fun and build friendships.

NAB’s Eye Educate programme will raise awareness of visual impairment via 45-60 minute talks in primary schools across the county.

Join NAB EyeKids group -  A private page – closely monitored by their admins for your safety and privacy - get in touch to sign up.  A fantastic space for parents and carers of visually impaired children (age 0-18 years of age) living in Northamptonshire: Keep up to date on all the latest activities and events. Share tips, chat, make friends, share stories and discuss anything of interest with other families

They also offer hospital liason officers (for all ages)

The Northamptonshire Association for the Blind is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO), no. 1198369.
