Family Link Carers - NCT

Family Link Carers - NCT logo

Description

The Northamptonshire Children's Trust's (NCT) Family Link service provides short breaks for disabled children in a safe environment. Breaks can last from a few hours at a time, to a few days a month (depending on the child’s needs). They give the child a valuable chance to spend with others, and their family a break from the everyday responsibilities of caring for their child.

Family Link carers are trained volunteers who open their home to disabled children. They are highly-trained, supported by NCT, and supervised by a dedicated Family Link social worker.

NCT work closely with their Family Link carers to ensure they're carefully matched with a family who needs their support. Family Link care happens in an environment where the child’s family can be confident the child is happy and feels secure.

Referrals to the Family Link service are made by the Disabled Children's Team (DCT).
