Local Flood Risk Management Strategy

We are updating our Local Flood Risk Management Strategy. As part of this process, we are holding a non-statutory public consultation to provide everyone with an early opportunity to shape the Strategy.

To find out more about this non-statutory consultation and to provide a response, please visit the public consultation portal

Please note, this is an initial consultation on a strategic planning document. If you would like to report a recent flooding incident please visit Report a Flood.

As Lead Local Flood Authority, we have a responsibility to develop, maintain, apply and monitor a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

The strategy focuses on local flood risk resulting from surface water, groundwater and ordinary watercourses flooding.

The interaction with main river flooding is also assessed. The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy is therefore an important document which that sets out the management of flood risk in West Northamptonshire for the coming years.

For further information on flood risk management responsibilities see our Flood Risk Management Responsibilities

You can find out who to contact regarding different types of flooding.
