Inclusive Provision Toolkit

In West Northamptonshire, we want all children and young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to do well, reach their goals, and live happy, fulfilling lives.

The Inclusive Provision Toolkit (IPT) is West Northamptonshire’s ordinarily available provision guidance. Ordinarily available provision means the support all schools should be able to give to every child, every day, including those with SEND.

This support includes:

  • good teaching for everyone
  • lessons changed to suit different learners
  • help with feelings and wellbeing
  • useful resources and tools

The IPT focuses on spotting needs early, giving help early, and making sure teaching is high quality. It gives clear and practical advice to help staff support children in ways that are consistent, flexible, and based on each child’s needs. The toolkit has been created together with schools, other professionals and parents/carers.

The IPT works alongside the SEND Ranges. Together, they provide a clear pathway to inclusive practice across West Northamptonshire, and help to make sure children and young people get the right support at the right time.

We will be breaking down the full document into sections to help you navigate the guidance.

Both Early Years and Post-16 sections will be published here when they are available.
