Gym extension project set to begin at Danes Camp as Lings Forum upgrades progress
13 May 2026

An exciting project is set to begin to extend the gym at Danes Camp Leisure Centre.
The centre, run by award-winning operator Everyone Active in partnership with West Northamptonshire Council (WNC), will see work start on Monday, May 25.
Currently housing 50 stations, the gym will be upgraded to 80 stations. The extension will allow for a new and wider range of state-of-the-art equipment, such as increased cable stations and lifting racks, a full range of pin-loaded machines and the introduction of hydro massage beds.
The extended gym will be completed in September and will replace the old health suite, which has been closed for safety reasons since the start of the new leisure contract on Wednesday, April 1.
The extension is the first of many exciting upgrades planned at Danes Camp Leisure Centre, including an extended group cycling studio, refurbished studios, grab and go café and new changing rooms.
Elsewhere, work is progressing well on the gym extension at Lings Forum Leisure Centre, which will see the new fitness suite increased to more than 120 stations.
Work is also continuing on the new Reformer studio, which will include 18 Reformer machines.
The specialist machines feature adjustable resistance and a moving platform, providing a versatile workout that can be tailored for individual fitness levels.
Popular for its ability to strengthen the core, improve flexibility and assist with rehabilitation, the innovative exercise is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
Everyone Active and West Northamptonshire Council have pledged to refurbish facilities across the leisure contract, as part of a new chapter for leisure in the area.
