Have your say in the future of planning in West Northamptonshire
23 January 2026

Communities across West Northamptonshire are invited to help shape the future of their area as West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) launches fresh plans as part of the Local Plan consultation on Thursday 29 January.
The Local Plan sets out where homes, jobs, and services will be located, how green spaces will be protected, and how sustainable growth will be delivered across West Northamptonshire up until 2043. It also covers key policies on housing numbers, employment land, town centre regeneration, and environmental protections. With housing and employment needs increasing significantly, this consultation is a vital opportunity for people to influence decisions that will affect their communities for decades to come.
“This is one of the most important consultations we will run. The Local Plan will guide development across West Northamptonshire for decades to come, from where new homes and jobs are located to how we protect our environment and green spaces. We want everyone to have their say, because these decisions will shape the places where we live, work, and spend time. Please take part and help us plan for a sustainable future.”Cllr Thomas Manning, Cabinet Member for Planning and Communities
The consultation will run until late March 2026, and WNC is hosting a series of public engagement events where people can find out more and share their views:
