West Northamptonshire Council’s (WNC) Women’s Forum is proud to announce the return of the Inspirational Women Awards, now in their 14th year. These awards shine a spotlight on the extraordinary women who are driving progress, sparking change, and making a lasting impact in workplaces and communities across the region.

Nominations are now open and close on Sunday 8 February 2026, inviting the public to nominate the women who inspire them every day. All nominees must be working or living in West Northamptonshire.

Award categories

Business Award: Recognising women who inspire through their professional achievements, business ownership, or career mentorship.

Community Award: Celebrating individuals who uplift their communities - whether it’s a family member providing unwavering support, a neighbour leading local initiatives, a passionate campaigner, or a tireless fundraiser.

Community Special Recognition Award: this category highlights exceptional contributions to community development.

The shortlist will be announced week commencing 16 February 2026 and an awards ceremony will be hosted at the Guildhall in Northampton on Saturday 7 March 2026 to celebrate International Women’s Day taking place the following day (8 March 2026).

This year’s theme is “Give to Gain”, and champions generosity and collaboration. It reminds us that when individuals, organisations and communities give, whether through time, knowledge, advocacy, or resources the impact increases.

Last year’s winners Lisa Bryan (special recognition award), Jane Arnold (business award) and Heather Thorburn (community award) set an inspiring benchmark, showcasing the depth of talent and dedication across West Northamptonshire.

“These awards highlight the remarkable women who work tirelessly to uplift others and make a meaningful difference in their communities. I warmly encourage residents to put forward the inspirational women in their lives so we can recognise and celebrate the impact they make every day.”Cllr Charlie Hastie, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities at West Northamptonshire Council
