Residents invited to share views on adult social care services
02 February 2026

West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) is inviting a random selection of service users to take part in the Adult Social Care (ASC) Survey, which is being carried out on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England and is open until 6 March.
The survey gives people the chance to share their experiences of local adult social care services, helping to shape how support is designed and delivered in the future.
Feedback gathered locally has already influenced a range of improvements, including updates to the residential and nursing care framework, changes to domiciliary care to increase flexibility and access, and enhancements to supported living pathways.
Nationally, DHSC uses ASC Survey results to understand how well adult social care is working across the country. The findings help compare services between councils, identify persistent issues such as loneliness or unmet need, inform future policy and reform, populate indicators in the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework (ASCOF), and support scrutiny and transparency for service users, regulators and government.
By taking part, residents can help inform both local commissioning priorities and national decision‑making about adult social care.
Cllr Laura Couse, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Adult Social Care, said: “Listening to the experiences of people who use our services, their families, and those who work within adult social care is essential to how we continue to improve. It is important that we hear both positive feedback - and the areas where people feel we can do better, as this insight helps us to understand what is working well and where further focus is required.
“The feedback we receive through our surveys provides a vital evidence base that informs service development and future planning. It ensures that we improve services where we need to, and continue to deliver high‑quality, responsive services that meet the needs of our residents and communities across West Northamptonshire.”
Anyone needing support to complete the survey or seeking more information can contact the Business Support Team on 0300 126 7000 (Option 1, then 3, then 1) or email [email protected]. Those selected residents are encouraged to participate before the survey closes on 6 March.
