27 March 2026

Residents, businesses and innovators across Northamptonshire are being invited to explore the latest in technology, creativity and digital thinking as Merged Futures 8 returns this summer.
Taking place on Friday 26 June at the Learning Hub, Waterside Campus, University of Northampton, the free annual showcase brings together forward-thinking organisations, industry experts and local talent to share ideas, spark conversations and demonstrate how technology is shaping everyday life.
Now in its eighth year, Merged Futures has built a strong reputation for making complex topics accessible, relevant and engaging. From artificial intelligence and robotics to health technology and digital education, the event offers something for everyone, whether you are a business owner, student, public sector professional or simply curious about what the future holds.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to explore a wide range of interactive exhibition stands, hear from expert speakers, take part in sessions covering real-world applications of technology across different sectors and plenty of opportunities to network and connect.
Highlights include:
- Practical insights into how AI is already transforming the way organisations work
- Innovations in health and care, including immersive technology supporting wellbeing
- Real-life examples of digital transformation across local public services
- Opportunities to connect with local organisations, developers and educators

“What makes this event special is how it brings people together. It’s not just about technology, it’s about sharing ideas, learning from each other and building confidence in what the future could look like for our communities, our businesses and our public services.
“Whether someone works in digital, runs a local business or is simply curious about how technology is changing the world around us, this is a great opportunity to come along, get involved and be part of the conversation.”
