Since opening in March 2025 as part of West Northamptonshire Council’s expanding network of Family Hubs, Towcester Family Hub has become a welcoming and well used space where families can connect, access support and take part in sessions that promote early years development, parenting and wellbeing.

In its first year alone, the hub has supported nearly 8,000 children, young people and parents across West Northamptonshire, providing vital activities, guidance and services to help families thrive.

Over the past 12 months the Hub has:

  • Welcomed 7,899 users, including 762 young people
  • Supported 915 families
  • Delivered 809 Family Hub-led sessions and hosted 400 partner-led sessions, clinics and drop-ins
  • Provided 532 sensory room bookings, helping children with additional needs access therapeutic play

Families who use the Hub have highlighted the positive impact it has had on their wellbeing and sense of community. One parent said: “Welcoming, lots for baby. Thank you, I've felt a little isolated this maternity leave and it’s given me a real boost just to get out and chat.” Another shared: “With a neurodivergent child and toddler this space is amazing… Can’t wait to book again.”

Towcester Family Hub is one of several in-person Family Hub locations operating across West Northamptonshire, alongside sites in Moulton, Kingsthorpe, Upton, Brackley and Daventry with further plans to have hubs in Far Cotton, Weston Favell and Central Northampton.

Families can also access support online through the West Northamptonshire Family Hubs online, which offers information, advice, virtual groups, self-help tools and signposting to local services.

Towcester Family Hub is helping families across West Northamptonshire feel less isolated, more connected, and ready to thrive.

Over the coming year, the Towcester Family Hub team plans to further expand support for local families, including strengthening parenting programmes, increasing outreach in Brackley, developing new early years groups for children aged 0–5, and expanding targeted support for speech and language, mental health, wellbeing and SEND. The Hub is also working to enhance its youth offer, including additional outreach and improvements to the youth space.

“Over the last year, the Towcester Family Hub has provided meaningful support to local families. The Hub is an inclusive space where parents, carers and young people can access the help they need, when they need it.

“I’m incredibly proud of the work our teams and partners have delivered and look forward building on this strong foundation and to seeing the offer continue to grow across West Northamptonshire over the coming year.”
Councillor Michael Stratton, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education at West Northamptonshire Council

The continued expansion of Family Hubs across West Northamptonshire forms part of the Council’s long-term commitment to ensuring children, young people and families can access help early and locally, whether online, in the community or at a welcoming Hub.
