We want your views on Annual Reviews of EHCPs
Supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)01 June 2026

West Northamptonshire Council is asking parent carers, children and young people to share their views on Annual Reviews of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
From 1 June to 12 June, we are inviting feedback to help improve how Annual Reviews work and better support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
What is an Annual Review?
Every child or young person with an EHCP has their plan reviewed at least once a year. This review checks whether the support in place is still meeting their needs and whether any changes are required.
Why are we asking for feedback?
We want to understand:
- What is working well
- What could be better
- How Annual Reviews help children and young people
Your feedback will help us improve the experience for families and ensure the process works effectively for everyone involved.
Who can take part?
We want to hear from:
- Parents and carers
- Children and young people (with support if needed)
Young people can be supported to take part by families or carers, schools or settings, or other trusted adults.
You can share your views in a way that works best for you.
What will we use your feedback for?
Your views will help us improve:
- Annual Review forms
- The online system
- Guidance and support for schools
We will carefully consider all feedback and use it to make improvements, with the aim of introducing changes by the start of the next school year where possible.
