How we can help
STAR, which stands for Support, Treatment, Advice and Recovery, provides a single front door to accessing drug and alcohol support services across Northamptonshire.
STAR can be used by clients, family members of those with drug and alcohol problems and professionals who work with clients with substance misuse issues.

STAR offers a number of different services depending on your needs including:
Support services

Support and treatment for over 18s
Substance to Solution provides tailored recovery support, including one-to-one sessions, prescribing, detox options, and peer-led activities.

Support and treatment for under 18s
NGAGE with Aquarius is a free, confidential service for 10 to 18-year-olds in Northamptonshire, offering early intervention, advice, and support around drug and alcohol use.

Support for family members
Family Support Link offers confidential help for families affected by a loved one’s drug or alcohol use.

Recovery support and activities, led by peers
Bridge is a peer support project which links volunteers who have recovered from alcohol and/or drug misuse with members who have serious substance misuse problems.

Share your experiences
Alcoholics Anonymous is a free self-help group with meetings across Northamptonshire.

AA family support
Al-Anon Family Groups are for the families and friends of alcoholics who share their experiences.

Training for professionals and volunteers
The Healthy Futures Project delivers Drug and Alcohol Awareness training to front line workers and volunteers who have contact with people potentially at risk from their use of drugs and alcohol.
