Resources and Waste Strategy

We empty over 21 million bins and caddies every year. To reduce waste and increase recycling, we have developed a new Resources and Waste Strategy. 

The strategy explains:

• our long-term goals for waste services
• how we will improve to meet new government rules

The strategy was made by a group of elected members and council officers, with help from experts and feedback from residents.

Vision

We want to make our waste services more efficient and better suited to our different communities. Our strategy outlines our vision for the future of waste services.

This vision includes ten key principles for all parts of the service. The strategy will guide our decisions on waste services in the coming years, helping us meet the needs of residents and government requirements.
