Northamptonshire Traveller Unit (NTU)
About the Northamptonshire Traveller Unit (NTU)
The Northamptonshire Traveller Unit (NTU) manages Gypsy and Traveller-related issues on behalf of North and West Northamptonshire councils.
To provide for Travellers and settled communities across the county, a multi-agency approach to support and enforcement that fosters good relations, and in which the rights and responsibilities of all the communities are respectedMission statement
We deal with Gypsy and Traveller issues across the county including:
- providing a one-stop point of access for the public, businesses, agencies and Travellers
- management of unauthorised encampments on public land
- providing advice and guidance to private landowners
- aiming to reduce the problems associated with encampments by tackling anti-social and unacceptable behaviour
The NTU service is funded by both West and North Northamptonshire Councils and is based at North Northamptonshire Council.
The NTU only handle reports of unauthorised traveller encampments. Rough sleepers should be reported to our Rough Sleeping team.
