Have your say
You can view the LNRS Draft Strategy, Local Habitat Map, Frequently Asked Questions document and supporting documents below.
After reviewing the strategy (document and map) we encourage you to complete the consultation survey. Your views are important!
Nature Map IT
To help monitor the success of nature recovery across West Northamptonshire, we have developed a Nature Map.
The map is a simple and interactive way for you to share what’s happening for nature. Whether you know of places rich in wildlife, activities already supporting nature, future plans, or opportunities and challenges for nature recovery, your local knowledge is invaluable.
By adding information to the map, you will help West Northamptonshire Council and partners build a clearer picture. We welcome contributions from individuals, communities, and organisations, and invite you to take part and help nature thrive.
Add information to the Nature Map IT of places you think should be included within the LNRS local habitat map.
Please note: entries submitted through Nature Map IT do not form part of the statutory planning process and cannot influence, determine, or be used as evidence in planning decisions.
Further ways to have your say
You can also talk to others about nature recovery and help build a shared sense of responsibility and pride in local wildlife. By getting involved, you can help create a healthier, more resilient natural environment for current and future generations.

Get involved
The draft strategy is available to view from our consultation portal.
The public consultation is now live until Wednesday 25 March 2026. We are encouraging everyone to read the strategy document, support documents and explore the local habitat map, and then complete the online questionnaire.
The public consultation gives everyone the opportunity to help shape the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) by sharing their views, local knowledge, and priorities for nature.
Your feedback will help ensure the strategy reflects local needs and ambitions, identifies the right places for nature recovery, and supports practical actions that deliver benefits for wildlife, communities, and future generations.
We have produced a document to answer the most frequently asked questions regarding the LNRS.
