The site is open 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm.
Bank holiday opening times
Sixfields Household Waste Recycling Centre is open on bank holidays.
The site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve.

Vans and trailers
Vehicles are restricted to a maximum weight limit of 3.5 tonnes.
All commercial-type vehicles (including hired) need an e-permit to access the site. Find out more and apply for a free waste e-permit.
Paid for waste service at HWRCs
Small scale traders, residents with excessive DIY waste and non-residents of WNC can recycle certain waste types, or dispose of general waste, at a competitive price at this site.

Reuse at HWRCs
If you think your items are in good condition and can be reused please place them in the reuse drop off area. A member of site staff will assess if the items is suitable for reuse.

Items taken from sites are sold at 2 reuse shops located at Sixfields HWRC and Farthinghoe Reuse and Recycling Centre.
Reuse shop
A reuse shop is located on this site, please follow the signs to the dedicated parking area.
The shop is open 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm.
You do not need a booking to donate or purchase from the shop.
If your items are in good condition and can be reused please place in the reuse drop area, or drop directly to the reuse shop. A member of site staff will assess if the items is suitable for reuse.
The Sixfields reuse shop is operated by Cynthia Spencer.

Compost
Compost is available to buy at this site for £4.50 per 25 litre bag, made from recycled green waste. Card payment only.
Using the centre
When using the centre:
- make a booking prior to your visit
- do not queue before 10am; it obstructs gates and roads
- wear protective gloves, appropriate footwear (no open toes), and clothing
- only bring what you can handle or bring help for heavy items
- pre-sort your waste to reduce congestion and make recycling easier and more accurate. Separate anything that you feel is suitable for reuse
- be courteous; abusive behaviour towards staff and members of the public will not be tolerated
- be aware that there is no pedestrian access - if you require alternative arrangements, please email [email protected] or call our HWRC customer service team, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, on 0300 126 7000 2 days prior to your intended visit
- place items in the correct containers
- cooperate with staff and ask for help if needed
- keep children and animals inside your vehicle, children may exit the vehicle around the Reuse shop area
- observe the site speed limit and one-way system; park in marked bays
- comply with all policies, including e-permit and DIY waste restrictions
- all commercial and chargeable household waste must be paid for at a dedicated service at Sixfields and Ecton Lane
