Communities and Place funding

Communities and Place funding allocation: £390,000

West Northamptonshire is an area where communities thrive, home to the towns of Brackley, Daventry, Northampton and Towcester along with many villages in between.

This funding is about amplifying the quality offer in the area to enable every resident to live their best life.

The particular ambitions for this allocation include:

  • improving physical activity, wellbeing and community inclusion
  • utilising the natural environment the area proudly boasts
  • tackling the cost of living crisis and enabling energy efficiency
  • improving pride in place

As set out in the UK Shared Prosperity Fund prospectus, the Communities and Place investment priority seeks to address these challenges by investing in projects with the following objectives:

  • strengthening social fabrics and fostering a sense of local pride and belonging by enhancing physical, cultural and social ties and access to amenities, such as community infrastructure and local green space, and community-led projects
  • building resilient, healthy and safe neighbourhoods and create quality places that people want to live, work and thrive in, through targeted improvements to the built and natural environment and innovative approaches to crime prevention
