Planning Register copyright and disclaimer

Make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before viewing and commenting on a planning application.

This section explains how we manage planning information online. The details you see may not show everything held by the Council.

Do not rely only on this site when making decisions. If you think something is wrong, contact us. By using the service, you accept that the Council is not liable for how the information is used.

Planning applications are now all digital and we are unable to reproduce as paper files for viewing.

Staff will be available to help with viewing planning applications on the display screens at our offices.

Plans and documents

All plans and documents are protected by copyright law. You must not copy, share, or change them without permission.

The provision of plans and documents does not give you the right to use that material in a way that breaches the copyright in that material. For instance, it does not give you the right to publish, copy or use for commercial or other purposes without prior permission of the copyright owner.

This does not restrict your rights under the fair dealing provisions of sections 29 and 30 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Maps

Maps are Crown copyright and licensed for Council use only. You may view them for personal, non-commercial use.

Comments

Comments on applications are public and may be published. We will remove personal details, but your name and address must be provided. Otherwise, your comment may not be considered.

Comments are usually published within ten working days. If comments have not been published within this time, email planning@westnorthants.gov.uk.

Pre-application advice

Pre-application advice is normally confidential, but may be disclosed if required by law. If a related application is submitted, the details become public.

Planning control breaches

Reports of planning control breaches are kept confidential. However, anonymous reports are unlikely to be investigated.

See planning enforcement to find out how to report a breach of planning control.

How your data is used

For more details on how your data is used, read our planning privacy policy. These terms apply whenever you use our planning services online and confirm your agreement to them at all times.
