Items we accept

We accept:

  • cardboard, magazines and paper, including phonebooks and catalogues
  • glass bottles and jars
  • shredded paper
  • metal tins and cans, chocolate and biscuit tins
  • tin foil and foil trays
  • plastic bottles
  • plastic tubs, trays and pots
  • drink cartons
  • aerosols
  • envelopes (including windows)

Items we don't accept

We don't accept:

  • food waste (wrapped or unwrapped)
  • pyrex, glass sheet and drinking glasses
  • polystyrene/foam board
  • black sacks and bin bags
  • clothing and textiles
  • building supplies, including wood, paint
  • carpet
  • plastic toys
  • tapes (VHS) and discs (CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray)

Sack collection

We supply a roll of 25 general waste sacks for £53 per roll, this includes collection.

What happens to your mixed recycling

Materials are collected and sent to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), where they are sorted and sent to different manufacturers for repurpose.

Recycled materials are made into new products that are used here in the UK. For example, all newsprint is now made from 100% recycled paper. The UK also exports recyclable materials to other countries.
